Thin Cake Boards, also known as cake cards or separator boards, are lightweight boards used to support cakes during decorating, stacking and display. Made from food safe foil-coated cardboard, they provide a neat and stable base for individual cake tiers while remaining slim enough to fit discreetly between layers.
These boards are commonly used in tiered cakes where holes can be cut into the board to allow dowel rods to pass through, creating a stable support structure between cake layers. They are widely used by cake decorators for wedding cakes, celebration cakes and multi tiered designs where internal support is needed. Keep the holes as tight to the dowel as possible. Thin cake boards are also useful as bases for single cakes, pastries and dessert displays, and can be covered with foil, fondant or decorative paper to match the cake design.
