Developed by the international Bakels baking group and produced locally by South Bakels, this off-white to pale tan premix has a gently sweet, lightly spiced aroma and is designed to create a soft, moist cake with excellent eating quality. Just add carrots, eggs, and oil, and you?re well on your way to a proper bakery-style carrot cake.

The mix helps reduce mixing time, simplify recipes, and deliver consistent results?ideal for carrot cakes, cupcakes, muffins, slices, and loaf cakes. Ingredients

Sucrose, Wheat Flour, Dextrose, Modified Starch (E1422), Raising Agents (E450i, E500), Spices (Irradiated), Sodium Chloride, Colour (E150c), Glucose, Emulsifier (E481), Thickeners (E466, E412).

Basic Recipe (Bakels Method)

Group 1 Ingredients

Carrot Cake Mix ? 1.000 kg

Fresh Beaten Eggs ? 0.300 kg

Oil ? 0.400 kg

Carrots (Grated) ? 0.500 kg

Pecan Nuts ? 0.100 kg

Total weight: 2.300 kg

Method

Beat the eggs for 2 minutes on high speed using a whisk.

Add the cake mix and beat on low speed for 4 minutes, scraping down the bowl.

Add vegetable oil slowly while beating on slow speed for 1 minute.

Stir in the grated carrots and pecan nuts and mix well for 2 minutes.

Scoop into baking tins lined with silicone baking paper.

Bake at ?180 ?C for 40?50 minutes, depending on cake size.

Ice with buttercream icing and decorate as desired.
