Description
Xylitol 10/30 mesh is a crystalline sugar alcohol sweetener made from plant fibres such as birch wood or corn cobs. The 10/30 mesh specification refers to the crystal size, giving it a medium granulation that measures and handles similarly to regular sugar.
Xylitol provides sweetness comparable to sucrose but with fewer calories and a lower glycaemic impact. It is commonly used in baking, beverages, confectionery, desserts and tabletop sweetening, and works well in cookies, cakes, sauces and syrups where a clean sweetness is desired.
Also known as birch sugar, xylitol dissolves easily and produces a slight cooling sensation on the palate. It is widely used in sugar-free products such as chewing gum, sweets and dental care items because it does not promote tooth decay.
Important: xylitol is highly toxic to dogs and should always be kept well out of reach of pets.
