These premium sheets are made from a blend of sugar and starch that forms a flexible edible surface designed for printing images and designs used in cake decorating. Edible icing sheets are widely used in modern cake decorating and photo cake printing, allowing bakers to place detailed edible images directly onto cakes, cupcakes, cookies and other desserts.
Icing sheets are compatible with edible ink printers and absorb food grade ink to produce clear printed designs that can be applied to fondant, buttercream or icing surfaces. Because icing paper is thicker and more textured than normal paper, prints will naturally appear slightly softer than traditional ink prints. Pinks may appear slightly redder and blacks less deep, but the result remains fully edible and food safe when used with edible ink. For best results use with dedicated edible printer ink.
The sheets have a plastic backing border along one short edge to assist with peeling before application. They should always be stored airtight, as exposure to air can cause the sheets to dry out and become brittle. When stored correctly they typically have a shelf life of more than one year.
