Edible Glue (CMC / Tylose)
Edible glue made from CMC (carboxymethyl cellulose), also known as Tylose powder, is a simple sugar-craft adhesive used to attach fondant, gum paste and modelling paste decorations to cakes and each other. When mixed with water it forms a clear, food-safe glue that dries quickly and holds decorations securely.
It is widely used for fixing sugar flowers, fondant shapes, figurines and decorative elements onto cakes, cupcakes and cookies. The same mixture can also help strengthen fondant for modelling when a small amount of CMC is kneaded directly into the paste.
A staple in cake decorating and sugar craft where clean, edible adhesion is needed.
