Dehusked sunflower seeds, also known as sunflower kernels or hulled sunflower seeds, are the edible inner seeds of the sunflower plant Helianthus annuus after the outer shell has been removed. Sunflowers are native to North America and have been cultivated for thousands of years for both their oil and nutritious seeds.
